Joshua M. Bows, P.E.
President, Merrill Corporation

Josh Bows has managed numerous residential, commercial, and industrial projects from inception though permitting and construction since joining Merrill in 2002. As a lead engineer, he has designed single and multi-family residential projects and commercial site plans that involve stormwater management, well and regulatory compliance, and wastewater treatment. Josh has over 15 years experience as a Registered Professional Engineer and Mass. DEP Soils Evaluator.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Robert C. Merrill, P.E., LEED AP
Principal Engineer

Bob Merrill has served as the principal engineer of Merrill since 1979. He is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Bob is also certified as a Mass. DEP Soils Evaluator, Title 5 Septic Inspector, Massachusetts Construction Supervisor, and a LEED Accredited Professional. During a civil design and consulting career spanning nearly 40 years, Bob has designed, permitted, and supervised numerous commercial, residential, and industrial projects throughout New England. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University.

Peter G. Palmieri, P.E.
Director of Engineering

Peter Palmieri has been a Senior Project Manager with Merrill for over 28 years. As Director of Engineering, Peter oversees and manages Merrill’s civil design team and manages key projects.  Peter holds a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Douglas W. Heald, P.E.
Senior Project Manager

Prior to joining Merrill in 2004, Doug Heald worked for Mobil Oil Corporation as a design and project engineer, where he specialized in the design, permitting, construction, maintenance, and environmental remediation of gasoline service stations and bulk oil terminals. His 40 years of experience also includes the design and permitting of retail store and distribution sites. Doug is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.

Dana M. Altobello, P.E.
Senior Project Manager

Dana Altobello has over 15 years of experience in the planning, design, and permitting of numerous residential and commercial projects in eastern Massachusetts, including multi-unit and active adult communities.  He has worked on a variety of projects, including stormwater management, on-site septic design, environmental permitting and Mass. DEP compliance. Additional areas of expertise include coastal dock permitting, zoning studies and land planning.  Dana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Roger Williams University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and a Mass. DEP Soils Evaluator.

Thomas A. Pozerski, P.E., LEED AP
Senior Project Manager

Tom Pozerski has considerable experience in site assessments, hydrological analysis, sewer and utility design, local, state and federal permitting, and construction administration. Tom is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and is certified as a Mass. DEP Septic Inspector and Soils Evaluator. Prior to joining Merrill in 2007, Tom served for 31 years as a military engineering officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.  Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University.

Shane M. Brenner, P.L.S.
Director of Land Survey

 Shane Brenner has over 22 years of land surveying experience and has worked on a multitude of detailed commercial, municipal and residential projects.  As Director of Land Survey at Merrill Corporation, Shane has extensive experience in boundary line determination, commercial and residential subdivisions, land court surveys, topographic and detail surveys, bathymetric surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, GPS surveys, and construction layout services. Shane holds a degree from Quincy College and a Professional Land Surveyor Certificate from Wentworth Institute of Technology.  He is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Massachusetts and a Licensed Land Surveyor in New Hampshire.  

Paul T. Grover, P.L.S.
Land Surveyor

Paul Grover brings more than 40 years of land surveying expertise to his work at Merrill Corporation. His experience includes overseeing land surveying operations, including GIS surveying, property line, topographic and detail surveys, ALTA/ASCM title insurance surveys, land court and subdivision plans.  Paul is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Surveyors, and the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping.

Vincent Carey
Land Surveyor/AutoCAD Designer

Vinny Carey has over 16 years of experience as a land surveyor and field survey technician.  Since joining Merrill in 1999, Vinny has served as lead surveyor on numerous residential and commercial projects, responsible for collecting existing conditions field data, developing survey base plans, and setup and layout for construction.

Richard Cheverie
Land Surveyor/AutoCAD Technician

Rich Cheverie joined Merrill in 2002 with a background in architecture, carpentry, land surveying, and construction. He works closely with Merrill’s engineering design team on residential and commercial projects, performing daily field surveys, construction layout, and AutoCAD plan preparation work. Rich holds a degree in Architectural Design from Massasoit Community College.

Christopher M. Sanderson
Design Engineer

Chris Sanderson leads Merrill Corporation’s Utility Division on natural gas related projects. Prior to joining Merrill, Chris worked on wind turbine projects in the Northeast involving wind resource assessments and environmental impact studies. Additional civil engineering design experience includes traffic impact assessments, residential subdivision design, septic design, and stormwater management. Chris holds a degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of  Technology, as well as certifications from OSHA for Construction Safety and Health.

Michael E. Count
Land Surveyor/Hydrographer

Mike Count performs and manages land-based topographic survey operations and wetlands and coastal resource delineations. Mike’s experience includes hydrographic surveys, coastal engineering, hazardous waste remediation, and structural inspections of foundations, bridges, commercial piers, breakwaters, and seawalls.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering from the University of RI and is OSHA-certified for 40 hour HAZWOPER and 10 hour  Construction. Mike’s credentials as an ACSM-certified Inshore Hydrographer are pending.

Brian G. Benulis
AutoCAD Designer

Brian Benulis joined Merrill’s design team in 2010 with a strong background in AutoCAD drafting and design. He has been responsible for the preparation of many of our residential, commercial, and industrial site plans from base plan development through final design and construction.  Highly proficient in all AutoCAD releases, Brian is also experienced in natural gas utility design and construction, architectural design AutoCAD plan production, construction detailing, and project coordination.  He holds a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Delaware.
